Under the patronage of the scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, the Council of Friends of the Imam Al-Ridha Charity held an iftar in honour of the charity's orphan sponsors and supporters, attended by the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah and social figures from the Nabatieh area.
The iftar included an artistic segment presented by the charity's children, then a word from the Council of Friends of the Imam Al-Ridha Charity delivered by Sahar Saleh. It concluded with a word from the scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah which said: “The month of Ramadan is a month in which God wanted us to embody Him in love, in mercy, in giving, in generosity and in goodness. In that way we deserve to be among those who belong to it, among those who win its love, and among those who are able to live in its shade all their lives.”
He added: “Today you have come, in the embrace of this blessed month, to assure God, glorified and exalted, that you have followed His road and been careful of what He loves, when you thought of those who suffer in life, who are in pain and who need someone to extend a hand to them, who need someone to embrace them, to give them love and to make them feel their humanity and their dignity. This is the expression you give, and its outward sign is in all this giving felt by everyone living within this institution.” He pointed out that “these institutions were able to reach what they have reached only through this giving and through the efforts of good people. Sayyed Fadlallah, may God be pleased with him, always used to say: the credit for these institutions is not mine; I motivated people and placed before them one of the initiatives of goodness, but the people gave, the people were generous and in the people is all goodness. This goodness is from you, from these good people who produced all this giving, which we ask God, glorified and exalted, not to let cease even in difficult circumstances, but rather to extend and widen - because people's needs and their suffering are many. These institutions are from the people and will always be for the service of all people, apart from their identity, their sect and their affiliation.”
