Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah patronized the honouring ceremony held by Imam Al-Hassan (a.s.) High School in Al-Rouais for the winners in the external competitions in which they had taken part, in the presence of Sheikh Fouad Khreis, the school's director Dr. Mohammad Gharib, Sheikh Abbas Ghosn, the president of the Al-Mabarrat Graduates Association Sayyed Ahmad Al-Moussawi, as well as the teaching and administrative bodies and the families of the students and of those honoured…
The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Quran, then the Lebanese national anthem, after which the school's students presented a number of distinguished anthems and a play inspired by the occasion, followed by the screening of a documentary film on the school's most notable achievements and activities at all levels.
The ceremony's patron Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah then delivered a speech, at the start of which he expressed his happiness at being in this distinguished edifice to honour a constellation of high-achieving and creative dear students, holding that this achievement is the best proof of this teaching institution's fidelity to its commitments and to the goals for which it was founded - namely educating a mission-driven generation that is aware and distinguished in its knowledge, its upbringing, its morals and its faith…
His Eminence affirmed that this institution, since its launch, has been keen to be faithful to the students who came to it, working with full responsibility to bring out the energies and capacities they possess and turning them into achievements in society - and this honouring and these results prove that reality…
He addressed the students being honoured, praising their efforts and their toil, which bore this abundant harvest and this brilliance and creativity, pointing out that they were messengers of truth and faithful to this edifice, and calling on them to continue the journey of knowledge, learning and creativity, to make use of time and not waste it, and pointing out that the most important weapon the nation possesses is the weapon of knowledge, which raises its standing, restores to it its glories, its dignity and its presence, and makes it dignified and free, far from dependence on others…
His Eminence praised the role played by the families through their efforts to provide learning for their children despite all the difficult circumstances this homeland is passing through - the high cost of living, school fees and healthcare - and despite all that they insisted on discharging their duty towards their children and on striving to secure all life's requirements for them.
His Eminence thanked the school's administration for the role it plays through carrying out its teaching, moral and educational mission, pointing out that we want a generation that believes in openness and is brought up to extend bridges and to communicate, for this homeland can be built only by dialogue and interaction among its components. We therefore call once again on all the political forces to emerge from their selfishness and their interests, to make concessions for the sake of the homeland and its people, and to hasten to elect a president of the republic so that we may be able to face the internal and external challenges…
At the close the certificates were distributed to the winners…
