Al-Basha'er Secondary School held its “Festival of Excellence and Creativity” for its gifted students, under the patronage of the Minister of Culture in the caretaker government Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, represented by Dr. Hassan Jabaq, and attended by MP Yanal Solh, former MP Hassan Yaacoub, the director general of the Ministry of Education Imad Al-Ashkar represented by Dr. Ali Zeaiter, the head of the union of Baalbek municipalities Shafiq Shehadeh represented by his deputy Jamal Abdul Sater, the acting head of Baalbek municipality Mustafa Al-Shall, the head of Maqneh municipality Fawaz Al-Miqdad, the representative of the executive council of the private schools union in Lebanon Mustafa Abu Esber, the director of the Al-Hawra Charity Ibrahim Al-Saeed, the school's director Iatidal Al-Jamal, and religious, cultural, educational and social figures.

Al-Saeed

Al-Saeed delivered the word of Al-Basha'er, saying: “Our harvest this year, as every year, is rich and abundant - first places and distinguished, creative prizes. These are moments of fulfilling the pledge and the covenant to an association that believed in the human being as a brother and a partner, and held righteousness to be a path to good works, a hastening to sacrifice and an opening of achievements - so that the human being may be God's human being, the pledge God's pledge, the covenant His covenant, the holding fast to what God has commanded, and the association righteousness and goodness for the sake of God. This is why it is giving that outruns the time of life, it is the stronger will to do good, and it is continuation and endurance in what pleases God and sets souls right.”

He continued: “We carry on building and giving, despite the economic and security conditions. We carry on giving from our souls, our hearts, our thought and our upbringing; we carry on in positions of excellence and pride; and we carry on being the first to goodness and truth, hastening to places of sincerity and leadership in the institutions and universities where our students have become living witnesses to the awareness, thought and culture our schools and edifices planted years ago - so that their graduates are among the high achievers of Lebanon's sons in medicine, engineering, literature and the various great, constructive specializations.”

Jabaq

For his part Jabaq said: “We address Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, represented by its president His Eminence Sayyed Ali Fadlallah and its Director General Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, and Al-Basha'er Secondary School, valuing your honourable and shining efforts in raising the level of the teaching and educational sector over the years - crowned recently by the award to Al-Basha'er Secondary School in the Bekaa of the language quality mark with distinction by the French embassy in Lebanon. If this shows anything, it shows our ability to bring about successes amid all the crises we are passing through, and our insistence on building a better future for our children.”

He added: “Here is the soul of the religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah looking upon you with pride and delight at the effort and the giving you have expended for the sake of knowledge, learning and elevation, so that you may be the model of the future to which people look and on which hopes are hung. You are the image of the Bekaa we love - the Bekaa of knowledge, creativity and coexistence, the Bekaa of resistance and steadfastness.”

In closing, certificates of appreciation were presented to the students who took first places in the cultural, educational and sporting competitions.
