Pupils of Al-Mabarrat schools won many first places in the “Arab Reading Challenge” competition in its eighth season, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon.
29,676 students from 324 public and private secondary schools and schools from across Lebanon took part in the competition, supervised by 1,014 supervisors. The number of participants with special needs reached 613 students.
Al-Basha'er Secondary School won the title of “Distinguished School”, ahead of 6 schools that qualified for this competition from among the participating schools at the level of Lebanon (three of the six qualifying schools belong to Al-Mabarrat: Al-Rahma Secondary School, Al-Basha'er Secondary School and Al-Kadhim Secondary School).
Al-Mabarrat's pupils also took the following places in this competition:
In the category of students of determination, two students from the “Al-Hadi Foundation for Hearing and Visual Impairment, Language and Communication Disorders” qualified out of three at the level of Lebanon: Lynn Al-Romh and Banin Al-Dor.
In the second student category, three students qualified among the top ten at the level of Lebanon:

  • Areej Hamdan from Al-Rahma Secondary School
  • Maya Ismail from Al-Basha'er Secondary School
  • Raneem Qazan from Al-Mujtaba Secondary School.
The winning students from Al-Mabarrat schools will take part in the closing ceremony in the Emirates.
It is worth noting that the “Arab Reading Challenge” competition is an initiative launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, to encourage students to read in the Arab world.
