In a warm Ramadan atmosphere, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his wife hosted an iftar at the Grand Serail in honor of orphaned children from various social and humanitarian institutions in Lebanon.
Prime Minister Salam and his wife received the children with great warmth and a hearty welcome, bringing joy and delight to their hearts.
Before iftar, the children, who came from the Islamic Orphanage, the Dr. Mohammad Khaled Social Foundations, Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, the Armenian Bird's Nest, the Druze Orphanage, Zahrat Al-Ihsan, SOS Children's Villages and the Imam Al-Sadr Foundations, enjoyed an engaging performance by the storyteller Baraa Sbeih.
In his performance, the storyteller presented a Ramadan tale highlighting the customs and traditions of the holy month, the meanings of love, mercy, harmony and tolerance, the importance of helping the poor and of coexistence, as well as the customs handed down from one generation to the next in the cities, the old quarters and alleys and the cafés, which lend an atmosphere of joy and delight to this month.
The children also toured the Grand Serail, where they learned about its historic features and its political significance.
