As part of the “School of Citizenship” initiative launched by First Lady Nemat Aoun in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the educational institutions of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association had a notable presence and active participation in the training workshops held at the Teachers' House of the Center for Educational Research and Development, with the aim of instilling the values of citizenship and strengthening social responsibility in the educational environment.
Al-Kawthar Secondary School, Al-Rahma Secondary School, Al-Jawad Secondary School, Al-Basha'er Secondary School and Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq Secondary School each took part with specialized administrative and educational teams, through which they expressed their commitment to their national role in preparing a generation positively engaged in public affairs, committed to the values of belonging and joint work, and able to contribute constructively to its society.
This participation affirms the vision that Al-Mabarrat's educational institutions hold of the school's role as a cornerstone in building a cohesive and effective society, through programs that strengthen national values, support the spirit of citizenship, and help prepare students able to act as engaged citizens and agents of positive change.
The “School of Citizenship” initiative is based on a global educational indicator developed by UNESCO and applied for the first time in Lebanon to measure learners' citizenship within the school. The initiative is divided into five phases spanning five years, comprising: selecting the participating schools, training administrators and teachers, implementing school reforms according to the indicator, civic engagement through student-led projects, and preparing evaluation reports and honoring outstanding schools at a national conference on citizenship education.
