Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah patronized the iftar “organized by the Al-Mabarrat Doha educational and care complex” in Doha Khalde, in the presence of a gathering of social, educational and economic figures.

To the strains of the scout musical band the guests entered the edifice of the Imam Al-Khoei Mabarra in the complex, which was adorned with an exhibition of handicrafts and paintings in which a group of fine artists took part.

The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Book, then a welcoming speech by the president of the board of friends of the Imam Al-Khoei Mabarra Youssef Hamdan, after which the Mabarra's children presented an artistic performance entitled “Al-Mabarrat the Homeland”, and the Mabarra's choir club presented hymns inspired by the occasion.

After that His Eminence Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah delivered a speech in which he thanked “the Mabarra's board of friends for organizing this annual gathering”, saying: “We meet with all these good faces that carry love, goodness and a sense of responsibility every year, so as to affirm the value of encounter. We meet with all our religious and denominational diversities and all the positions each one of us holds; we meet around the image of this homeland that we want to be a homeland for all its people.”

He added: “We have learned from our mission, from our religion, and from the picture drawn by His Eminence the Marja Allama Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, to swim in the wide sea and not in the narrow one, not to close in on ourselves. This is how we think and how we educate, and on this spirit we build our generations in all our places and plant all these values.”

He called on those present “to gather together and to think together about how we can build projects of goodness in our places, for our society needs many such projects, especially at this stage”. He said: “Come, let us build inclusive institutions, institutions for the whole homeland - and this is what we are always keen on, and we take pride in our institutions being welcoming to all the homeland's people.”

He pointed out that “these institutions were built with a spirit of openness and continue with this spirit, and they will be keen that this spirit remain in their conscience, their journey and their values. These institutions were not and will not be the institutions of an individual or a family, nor the institutions of a limited group of people; these are society's institutions - you are all concerned with them and you are all responsible for them.” At the close of the ceremony the director of the Al-Mabarrat Doha complex Mr. Ibrahim Alaa Eddine presented “certificates of thanks and appreciation” to the fine artists who joined the children of the Imam Al-Khoei Mabarra in a fine arts activity under the title “Your Love Is the Best Giving”.
