The Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association organized a campfire evening on the occasion of the opening of the summer camps at the scout city in Tyre, in the presence of the association's president Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, directors of teaching and care institutions and of departments at Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, as well as representatives of Lebanese and Palestinian scout associations, social figures from the city of Tyre, and the leaders of the regional commissions of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts.
The evening opened with the ceremony of lighting the fire, then the Lebanese national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association, then varied artistic and choral items, in addition to a filmed report on the most notable activities carried out during the 2018-2019 scout year
Dr. Fadlallah gave a speech on the occasion which read: “This scout evening comes as the conclusion of a number of training courses in which some 150 leaders took part over several days, so as to be qualified to lead the summer recreational camps the association holds until the end of August, through the information, skills and scouting experience they have acquired and drawn, which qualify them to lead these camps by the best methods and means - those that make of this cub and that flower, this scout and that guide, a civilizational model of a cultured, aware, open and believing generation in whom we take pride and glory.”
He added: “We want to affirm the constants on which scout work rested and rests: the scout is loving and serves people at all times, pays no heed to difficulties, and does not distinguish or differentiate between one person and another. And when service is a purely humanitarian act, it represents the summit of giving.”
He concluded: “The scout's role is a mission-driven role; their work is voluntary, giving service without return. They are accustomed to extending the palm and the spirit to serve others; they do good to their own people and to others, for God's sake, seeking neither reward nor thanks.”
