Mrs. Rana graduated twice from the American University of Beirut: she first obtained a university degree in engineering and then a master's degree in education, which later shaped her distinguished professional path as a school principal and educational leader.

We remember her with pride as a graduate of the education department because she embodied the features of the graduate we aspire to: a pioneer of change and a transformational leader working to improve schools and learning, whose impact is evident through the countless achievements with which she strove to serve her profession, her society and her country. Rana was an exemplary educator and a model in a noble profession, which makes us all - faculty, graduates and students of the education department - proud of what she achieved and of the professional values she reflected in everything she offered..

Rana Ismail was a pioneer of change; she worked tirelessly to make bold ideas a reality in order to create a more equitable and effective education system. Through her role as director of Al-Kawthar School and deputy director for teaching affairs at Al-Mabarrat Association, she was among the few pioneers who were able to leave a distinctive mark on the educational sector in Lebanon at both the strategic and the practical level. Over twenty-five years Rana established and led a teaching institution embodying the best educational practices, dedicated to providing a distinguished service to every child regardless of their socio-economic background and their learning abilities. Through this she demonstrated how education can respond to every student's needs and to the challenges of renewal imposed by this century. Rana succeeded in showing her fellow educators how inclusive education, continuous professional development, institutional effectiveness, participatory management and partnership with the community can be achieved - achievements that remain out of reach for most of our institutions that pride themselves on the quality education they provide..

As part of her pursuit of excellence, Rana joined, with a team from Al-Kawthar School, the TAMAM project from its beginnings and contributed greatly as an educational practitioner to its research-based designs. As a result of her efforts Al-Kawthar became one of the schools that embodied the project's vision of a self-renewing community school, with its contribution within a network of educators who carry the banner of change to improve education in the Arab region. Rana's influence also extended beyond the institution to whose service she devoted her life, through her voluntary educational services and her diligent work with refugees and marginalized communities throughout the Arab region, affirming through her works and her deeds that education is a human right for all..

Rana Ismail defeated time through her tireless commitment to just educational causes, and what she achieved in a single life would take others many lives to accomplish. She never tired of crossing distances at great speed, making the measure of her life the size of what she offered and what she gave, not the number of years she lived..

Rana's legacy will live on in the memory of many through the achievements she made, the potential she nurtured in everyone who worked with her, and the mark she left on the life of everyone who met her. She left behind an exemplary institution and many educational leaders whom she mentored, committed to continuing the professional mission she served with all her heart.

[249
288
post-10067","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gm-news","tag-288
["GET
