\u201cAl-Rahma Secondary School\u201d launched its \u201c18th Cultural Week\u201d and opened this year's book fair under the title \u201cWe Blossom Through Reading\u201d, in the presence of the school's director Ms. Sulaf Hashem, the cycle directors, the school's head supervisor Hussein Al-Ezzi, the director of the \u201cImam Al-Ridha Charity\u201d Rabiaa Al-Faqih, Eng. Rabih Takach representing Nabatieh municipality, Dr. Mohammad Farran representing the educational mobilization, the head of public relations at Al-Mabarrat Association Mr. Ali Ahmad Hussein, Mr. Nael Sbeity representing the \u201cAmal Educational Institutions\u201d, the director of the \u201cScout City\u201d Mohammad Fahs, and cultural and educational figures, parents, publishers' representatives and interested guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school's director Ms. Hashem delivered a speech in which she recalled that \u201cthe founding religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, may God have mercy on him, told us that the writer is the hero of freedom; and because the book is the book of freedoms, we must raise new generations that think in a scientific way and work on the basis of adding to the scientific output of the past a contemporary cultural output, in order to open onto the future. Hence the stake on the future and the attempts to transcend present reality, through a permanent and continuous journey between the school book and the cultural book in a space open to the freedom of the word and the awareness of thinking, which produces and allows the continuation of awareness in one's role, awareness in responsibility and awareness in bearing the trust.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said: \u201cThe cultural week at Al-Rahma Secondary School was and remains a project for refining awareness and bringing the pupil out of the classroom into the wide cultural courtyards and arenas, which has increased the resolve to continue it within the accompanying series of activities as sources contributing to forming the character of the pupil who is ready for every challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school's director then honored a group of pupils who had been distinguished in reading and in the \u201cArabic Poetry Club\u201d, distributing certificates of appreciation and cash grants to them. The ceremony included many artistic, theatrical and literary segments inspired by the occasion, after which those present went to cut the ribbon of the book fair and tour the participating publishing houses<\/p>\n\n\n\n
