The scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah sponsored the honoring ceremony held by Al-Jawad (PBUH) Secondary School in the Bekaa town of Ali Al-Nahri for its girls who had reached the age of religious maturity, in the presence of the school's director Souad Marah Al-Moussawi, His Eminence Sheikh Fouad Khreiss, and scholarly, educational, social and cultural figures, and the families of the girls coming of age.
The ceremony opened with clear verses from the Holy Quran performed by the students in a joint choir, then the national anthem. The girls then entered amid an atmosphere of joy and delight, presenting segments and artistic tableaux inspired by the occasion and taking the oath of loyalty and the pledge to keep to the hijab, followed by a choral anthem inspired by the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (AJ).
The scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah then delivered a speech in which he began by expressing his happiness and pride at being present at this celebration and in this region, noting that we meet again, particularly in the atmosphere of this blessed birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (AJ) - the Imam whom we await and anticipate by walking his approach and his road in standing with the oppressed against oppression and striving to establish justice and fairness wherever we find ourselves
His Eminence added: Sadly we live in a time in which the arrogant powers seek to control this world's resources and plunder the wealth of peoples, and it is our responsibility to confront this deviant logic that harms all humanity.
His Eminence continued: We meet again to honor a constellation of our dear girls and to present them to our society and to our homeland through this distinguished institution, which strives to raise an aware and educated generation by blending knowledge and learning with the rooting of ethical, faith-based and human values and concepts
He said: Today we take pride in our girls, who have decided by their own choice and their own will to walk in obedience to God along the path of guidance He has drawn. They wished to enter this life through the door of obedience to Him and commitment to His commands, and so decided to bear this responsibility - and we are confident that they are able to carry it.
His Eminence noted that the responsibility does not stop at wearing the hijab; other responsibilities fall to them, the first being to affirm that the hijab is not what the enemies of this nation have tried to promote - an obstacle to a woman's progress and to her reaching the highest degrees of knowledge, learning and position.
He pointed out that the responsibility of all of us, as educational institutions and as parents, is to stand beside them to overcome every obstacle that may block their road, and to help them fulfil their role until we bring them to the shore of safety and give them the resilience to face all these temptations planted in their path to divert them from the road of truth, knowledge and faith.
He went on: We are counting on this generation, which carries all these qualities of faith and ethics, to lift this homeland out of its state of corruption, its politics of waste, share-splitting and disorder, and to set it on the road to advancement, to fighting ignorance and backwardness, and to building a homeland of freedom, integrity, pride, dignity and strength, to fortify it against the challenges and dangers it faces.
Separately, His Eminence received a delegation from the World Union of Resistance Scholars, comprising His Eminence Sheikh Hussein Ghobeiris and Sheikh Mohammad Al-Lababidi, who presented him with an invitation to take part in the conference the union is holding under the title \u201cThe Solid Ranks, the True Promise\u201d, and discussed with him a number of Islamic issues and the latest developments in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
