Al-Mabarrat schools and cultural centers opened \u201cNational Reading Week\u201d, launching a series of innovative cultural and educational events.
According to the organizers, the week aimed to \u201cplant the seeds of a love of reading in students' hearts, develop their language and social skills, and strengthen the value of investing time in the company of books\u201d.
The activities ranged from inspiring lectures, among them \u201cHow Good It Is to Live Responsibility\u201d by Ms. Batoul Chahine and \u201cHow Do I Choose My Friends\u201d by Ms. Sara Al-Dor. Mr. Bilal Chamaouni also shed light on \u201cthe concept of love in Islam\u201d and its human values in an interactive workshop.
Students engaged enthusiastically in absorbing activities such as the \u201cEmotional and Social Intelligence\u201d session supervised by Ms. Suzanne Chaito, and the workshop \u201cWritten Language: From Letter to Word\u201d presented by the specialist Nour Jaber, in addition to exploring \u201cGrammatical Parsing from the Holy Quran\u201d, and the \u201cMinds Challenge\u201d activity, whose discussion and analysis presentations varied before a judging panel.
In a festive atmosphere, students set off on \u201ctours among the bookshelves\u201d and immersed themselves in \u201creading sessions\u201d inside classrooms and in the open air, forming new friendships with \u201cbook friends\u201d. They also competed in engaging \u201ccultural competitions\u201d and enjoyed purposeful \u201ctheatrical segments\u201d that highlighted the importance of reading and the need to step away from the dominance of screens.
Students showed their creativity in \u201cart activities\u201d using collage, cutting and pasting, and engaged with the workshop \u201cLearn with Numbers\u201d, which aimed to teach numbers in an enjoyable way. They had the chance to enjoy \u201cpurposeful stories\u201d carrying messages about accepting others and not insulting or bullying anyone over difference, gave free rein to their pens in \u201ccreative writing sessions\u201d, listened to the magic of tales with a \u201cstoryteller\u201d who visited their schools especially for them, and made \u201cvisits to public libraries\u201d that opened wider horizons of knowledge for them.
The week was organized by the librarians of Al-Mabarrat schools in cooperation with the Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah Public Library. It \u201ccomes within Al-Mabarrat's educational and cultural vision, which seeks to raise an aware, cultured generation that loves learning and knowledge\u201d, according to the head of library supervision at Al-Mabarrat schools, Thuraya Hashem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
