The General Religious Supervisor of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, Dr. Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah, sponsored the honoring ceremony held by Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq (PBUH) Secondary School in the southern town of Jouya to celebrate the girls who had reached the age of religious maturity, in the atmosphere of Eid Al-Ghadir, attended by the school's principal Mr. Mohammad Haidar Nasrallah, the administrative and teaching staff, the parents and the girls.
The ceremony opened with the girls entering to music, introduced by pupils Fatima Ayyash and Sakina Nasreddine. Pupil Maram Zeidan then recited verses from the Holy Quran, and pupils Zahraa Mastou Kurdi and Ella Hadraj delivered a speech on behalf of the girls in which they stressed the importance of committing to religious obligation and to the hijab out of awareness, responsibility and faith. The girls also took part in a set of anthems inspired by the occasion, most notably \u201cMy Hijab Is Mine\u201d and \u201cWe Are the Stars of Al-Batoul\u201d.
The ceremony's patron, Dr. Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah, then delivered a speech in which he affirmed that nakedness has never accorded with human nature since the beginning of history, and that human beings have risen through their clothing and modesty as life and human civilization have developed. He said that Islam did not come to impose restrictions on people and return them to backwardness, as some claim. Rather it wanted women to stand out in society as minds, not as females, and to be seen in terms of values, conduct and character, and as contributors to building a human civilization founded on the pairing of body and spirit together. Hence the philosophy of the hijab: to soften the light on femininity and masculinity and to focus the light on the mind, achievement and creativity in life, for the woman as a human being as for the man as a human being.
He added: Today we see that when the spirit leaves a person they turn into a beast, as is happening now in the killing and the massacres. He asked: where are the advocates of women's rights in the face of what is happening in Palestine? Are women not being killed in Palestine? Are children not being killed in Palestine? And men and elders and the aged are killed too!
He affirmed that the hijab is the garment of piety, and is elegance and beauty far from display. He called on the dear parents to plant moral, religious and human values in our children's minds by awakening their awareness and their self-respect, so that they do not become a commodity in a corrupt society.
He stressed caring for our girls as a trust from God with us, listening to them and spending quality time with them with more love and embrace, being their support in shaping their tender experiences while giving them a space of guided freedom, so that we may be their safety valve amid the negative influences of unrestrained media or of media that relies on artificial intelligence and its harmful effect on their hearts and minds.
He closed his remarks with a number of counsels to the girls coming of age, focusing on strengthening their bond with the Creator, preserving values, and standing with truth and justice in every place and time, so that the picture of their inner and outer hijab may be complete.
He stressed attending to prayer, reciting the Quran and learning without weariness or fatigue, so that they may be the leaders of a finer future, springing from the beauty of their souls and the souls of those around them\u2026.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of gifts to our girls coming of age and souvenir photographs.
He then toured the school's mathematics, science and art education exhibitions, which included varied displays, thanking the pupils for their efforts in the pursuit of learning and knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
