With the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan, here is a look at the reality of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association and what it offers in the noble month.

Insistence on work

The Director General of Al-Mabarrat Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah describes the stage we are living today as “dangerous, critical and hazy”, but “Al-Mabarrat, as the crises intensify, stands before the new challenges to undergo the experience through the faith of the members of its family, their efforts, their patience and the support of the people of goodness, generosity and beneficence”. He points out that “the succession of crises has increased the immunity of Al-Mabarrat's institutions - an immunity founded in practice on will, determination and insistence on work, and on positive thinking through accumulating previous experiences, learning, training, continuous evaluation, and the spirit of faith through its bond and connection with God, from whom it draws beautiful patience”.

He adds: “Al-Mabarrat has proved the effectiveness of its presence in facing challenges and hardships - from the challenge of its founding and its emergence forty-three years ago during the civil war imposed in 1975; to the crises of the Israeli attacks in the nineties of the last century; to the July 2006 war, in which eight institutions were destroyed and after which Al-Mabarrat rose defiant with every strength, dignity and pride to begin its academic and care year, immune to defeat; to the absence of its founder the Marja Allama Fadlallah in 2010; to the new epidemic as an unprecedented health crisis, and the economic and living crisis; to the port explosion, which left victims and tragedies whose events cannot be got over. None of that has prevented or will prevent Al-Mabarrat from continuing its humanitarian journey crowned with love and giving; rather it has driven it to rise towards distinction in its programmes, its projects and its activities, in a journey full of giving and achievement.”

The month of Ramadan at Al-Mabarrat

For the second consecutive year, Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, like other associations, has been forced to apologize for not holding the iftars for the sponsors of orphans and the supporters of its humanitarian journey because of the coronavirus pandemic. With the beginning of the noble month it offers to everyone who supplied it with love and giving a statement on the scale of its spending in (2019-2020), which reached 30,177,613 US dollars, distributed over the care of orphans, people with special needs and those with learning difficulties in Al-Mabarrat's schools; over providing primary care and securing medicines for needy patients; over protecting 1,500 elderly people and providing them with services, including residential, health, therapeutic and nutritional services at Dar Al-Aman; and other offerings that serve the people and society.

From the people and to the people

Within the framework of the charitable programmes born from the womb of the social, economic and epidemic crisis, Al-Mabarrat is completing in the blessed month of Ramadan the provision of thousands of in-kind and food assistance packages to families in the various Lebanese regions, alongside completing the third stage of the initiative of the orphans' fuel company - refilling 30,000 gas cylinders for needy families, after supporting some 6,000 drivers among the owners of vans and public transport vehicles with petrol and diesel. In the noble month Al-Mabarrat is also working to support housewives in the villages and to employ the largest number of working hands within the “municipal provisions market” project, which works to market the produce of the rural areas and secures the needs of the care institutions. Al-Mabarrat is also working to invest the land surrounding the scout camps in agriculture and some of the care institutions' spaces in poultry raising, to help the families of orphans and the poor in the noble month.

Al-Mabarrat has also had many initiatives at the health level: it opened a special section for treating coronavirus patients at Bahman University Hospital, and launched a health and social initiative through the Dar Al-Aman hospital for the care of the elderly under the title “Your Health Is Safe”, during which it offered health services and varied assistance to elderly people in their homes, covering many towns of the South and the Bekaa.

Despite the crises we continue

In affirmation of integrated humanitarian care, Al-Mabarrat's care institutions work to provide teaching follow-up for orphans and people with special needs via the teaching platform in order to remove the obstacles of distance learning, and to provide electronic devices and mobile phones to facilitate their learning. Al-Mabarrat also works to provide the therapeutic services required for people with special needs and those with learning difficulties directly, alongside supporting the families of orphans and the poor under Al-Mabarrat's care and providing them with financial, food and heating assistance. In the blessed month of Ramadan it works to secure daily iftar meals for the orphaned children, people with disabilities, the elderly and their families, alongside the eid clothing and the eid gift for more than 4,600 orphans, people with disabilities and people in need.

Al-Mabarrat's academic and vocational schools are also seeking to adapt teaching to the epidemic crisis and to turn the crisis into an opportunity, by working to ensure the continuation of learning for more than 80% of Al-Mabarrat's pupils, whose number has exceeded 20,000 - among them 985 integrated pupils with learning difficulties, and 602 pupils who are blind, deaf, or have language disorders, autism or intellectual delay. It has provided a psychosocial support service for the students of Al-Mabarrat's schools to overcome this crisis. Al-Mabarrat also works to help the graduates of its schools in the process of enrolling at universities through financial contributions to the fees by way of the “Jusour” programme, and it launched the “Tumouh” programme at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon - a programme of academic scholarships for students of limited means, through which sixty academic scholarships were designated in all the university's faculties, reaching up to 100%.

And here is Al-Mabarrat continuing its work amid these crises despite not being subordinate to any political or party body, thanks to the support of the people of goodness who trust it. In this noble month it extends its thanks and appreciation to all those who enriched its charitable and developmental journey, who contributed to raising the edifices of righteousness in Lebanon and abroad: the noble sponsors of the orphans' expenses, the public and private institutions, the diplomatic missions, the international organizations and the local bodies, and all those whose good souls were generous in giving and whose noble hands were open in offering.. affirming that Al-Mabarrat will remain a humanitarian institution working, independently, for the good of people, all people, in support of social stability throughout the homeland.

[249

post-1859","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gm-news
["GET
