The lawyers Dr. Walid Hadraj, Mohammad Ziad Jaafil, Souha Ismail, Michel Fallah, Bassem Hamad and Omar Al-Koush submitted a notification to the Public Prosecution at the Court of Cassation in Beirut, following comments by Zeinab Ashour (whose place of residence is unknown) on her Facebook page, in which she addressed the late Allama Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah with insults and direct affronts, on today's date, 30 July.
The lawyers demanded her arrest, her interrogation and her referral - along with anyone whom the investigation shows to be an accomplice or an intervener - to the court competent in crimes touching religion, stirring sectarian and denominational strife and endangering civil peace, under articles 317 and 474 of the penal code, and that she be tried and the severest penalties imposed upon her.
Ashour had published yesterday, the 29th of this month, on social media comments containing doctrinal references within a mocking and insulting framework against Allama Fadlallah.
