The statement read:

God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity

The orphans' stations were and will remain devoted to their people and their society, transparent in dealing with them, clear in all their steps, struggling alongside them to the last breath.

From this starting point, and because of statements published here and there that do not express their reality and their situation, we would like to clarify to you the following:

1 - As is no secret to anyone, the #orphans_stations were affected, like all sectors, by the events of 17 October and what followed, accompanied by the deterioration of the dollar exchange rate and its reflection on the reality of work, as well as by the coronavirus pandemic and the complete closure of the country.

2 - Our stations suffered and still suffer from a shortage of petrol and diesel, and from the inability of most companies to abide by their contracts and their cancellation of all the facilities previously granted by them, because of force majeure - including the non-opening of letters of credit, the rationing of goods and the failure to secure them, and the exhaustion of the strategic stock. This has led to the closure of three quarters of our stations in all the regions, from the Bekaa to Beirut and the South.

3 - The Orphans' Company operates stations invested in at sometimes very high cost, which obliges it to pay the investment and the staff's wages without any return because of the unavailability of fuel from the companies concerned, owing to the force majeure circumstances that are no longer hidden from anyone. This entails for us a major loss that cannot be borne, which forced us - with regret - to hand them over to their owners after the end of the contract period, so that they would not remain closed.

4 - The staff and workers who work at these stations are our own people, and they will be compensated by legal, ethical and moral means. We will take account of their difficult circumstances in order to help them as much as we can, and they may be employed at other institutions according to their expertise - and we have a previous experience in this field.

[249
282
post-3038","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gm-news","tag-282
["GET
