Under the patronage of the editor-in-chief of the As-Safir newspaper Mr. Talal Salman, Al-Rahma High School launched the reading week and opened the fifteenth book fair with a large ceremony attended by the representative of the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Sheikh Fouad Khreis, the director of the association's media department Mr. Farouk Rizk, the school's director Mrs. Soulaf Hashem, a gathering of educational, social and municipal figures, representatives of universities and schools, guests and parents.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, after which a group of pupils presented an artistic item, then a silent theatrical scene by pupils of the secondary section shedding light on the scourge of addiction and the means of treating it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hashem<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school's director Ms. Soulaf Hashem addressed in her speech the reason for holding the book fair at this stage, where \u201cthe forms of communication have changed, and the communication networks have opened a new era of civilizational openness among nations that has invaded minds with its positives and its negatives and imposed itself powerfully\u201d. She continued: \u201cQuite simply we read in order to confront the real fears the forms of communication raise among families and officials, and we strive for reading to be one of the traits of our cultured, aware, universal and civilized young people.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She concluded: \u201cThe challenge is civilizational progress, and the standard of this progress is taking up the means of knowledge - for the founder Allama the Marja Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah pushed us to rely on the tools of knowledge and learning to renew the movement of awareness in our pupils' journey.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Khreis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The director of the religious supervision department Sheikh Fouad Khreis delivered a speech on behalf of the Director General in which he affirmed \u201cthe importance of strengthening reading among our children through teachers and administrators distinguished by educational and teaching methods that further motivate the children to read\u201d. He recalled the words of the Marja Sayyed Fadlallah: \u201cOthers' minds are not of gold and ours of dust\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued: \u201cWe can harness our minds to create and to excel, and this is what we reach through developing the capacities of the distinguished and the gifted - and here we recall that the gifted programme was launched from Al-Rahma High School.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then blessed the school's educational and teaching achievements at the internal and external levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
