So we entered the game of international and regional axes and turned this country into a lung breathing the region's poisons and an arena of tug-of-war for international and regional conflicts, until the official positions whose task is to plan for the country or to legislate turned into councils of disunited nations.”

He added: “We will continue to live anxiety and fear, and our hands will remain on our hearts at every event - as we witnessed recently in the parliamentary event, when the sectarian and denominational instincts, history's rancour and fear of the other were mobilized at every conflict occurring in the region. And instead of the aware, the firefighters and the concerned moving, the arena is left to the resentful, the impulsive, the fanatical and the fatwas of rancour, loathing and hatred.”

He said: “We have said it more than once: there is no problem in everyone having their political opinion or their position on the international and regional conflict, in being with this axis or that - for we are not isolated and cannot isolate ourselves from this world. But it must not be at the expense of this country's security, its stability, its future and the future of those who live in it. This equation may be difficult and complex, but we must work for it with all we can, because the alternative is a destruction that will bring everyone down.”

He added: “At this stage we are called to be more cohesive and more aware, for the enemy we defeated will not accept its defeat and will try again to take revenge on this region and on this country, which exposed it to defeat for the first time in its history. So let our eyes remain fixed on this enemy, and let us be alert to its plans, its cunning, its deceptions and its preparations.”

He called for “standing as one rank to confront the neglect and deprivation all our border areas suffer, which have not until now received all their rights and which are owed a great debt by the homeland for what they endured, gave and offered of sacrifices and prices before the occupation and during it”.

He affirmed “that we bring the people of this area out of this haemorrhage - they who, in order to obtain a dignified living, are forced to wander in God's wide lands. We want our people to regard their homeland as the source of their safety, their honour and their dignity, and this has not been achieved so far. With all our pride in what the people of this area do and in their keenness to maintain their bond with the homeland, we for our part will exert all we can in the service of this area, together with all those who give of goodness - as we gave in the past, we will give now and, God willing, in the future.”

He concluded: “Together we will continue the initiatives of goodness, so as to carry out our duty and our responsibility towards God and towards His dependants, all His dependants, and His people, all His people.”

[264
275
post-4010","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-264","tag-275
["GET
