\u00a0The \u201cAl-Hadi Institution for Hearing and Visual Impairment and Language and Communication Disorders\u201d organized an honouring ceremony for a group of its creative students and their supervising teachers, entitled \u201cCreative for the Sake of Life\u201d, at the Al-Saha Heritage Village - airport road, under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Elias Bou Saab represented by Professor Ghassan Chokrone.
The honouring covered the minister Bou Saab, the Australian ambassador to Lebanon Glenn Miles, the director of the British Cultural Centre Donna McGrane, the director general of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Zeid Khiami, the director general of the Ministry of Social Affairs Mrs Randa Bou Hamdan, the director general of the National Employment Office Professor Jean Abi Fadel, the director of the Islamic Cultural Centre Shafic Al-Moussawi, a group of media people who supported the institution in their media reports, and a group of the institution's financial supporters.
The ceremony was attended by the director general of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah, educational figures, a number of representatives of charitable associations, presidents of municipalities in the southern suburb, and the families of the students being honoured.
The ceremony opened with the Lebanese national anthem, played and sung by the Al-Hadi arts troupe, then the showing of a visual report on the institution's most prominent accomplishments and participations, after which Chokrone delivered Bou Saab's speech, in which he pointed out that \u201cAl-Hadi Institution is distinguished by its sincerity to the humanitarian message. It chose the care, attention, teaching, training and rehabilitation of a segment of pupils with learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments and language and communication disorders; and in this choice there is a deep faith in God, love and great sacrifices on the part of the administration, the training teachers and the specialists, who have become an authority in this field that we value highly.\u201d
He added: \u201cThe Ministry of Education entered the line of caring for pupils with learning difficulties a short while ago and is still at its beginnings; it does this in cooperation with institutions in the private sector, among them Al-Hadi Institution. The season of official examinations, which is now upon us, is living proof of this cooperation, without which we would not be at this level of progress that we are achieving in this field - which is very little compared with what we seek in our educational policy, aimed at providing the maximum possible support for our young people who are creative for the sake of life.\u201d
He concluded: \u201cWe greatly appreciate the effort you exert for the sake of excellence and creativity and of proving the ability to be distinguished and to give. We know that what you have attained was thanks to you and to your institution, which has enveloped you in love and giving. Your creations deserve to be paused at, and we open a door for them to come out into the light and seek to invest in them for your sake and for the sake of the homeland, which takes pride in you.\u201d\u00a0
Afterwards the director of Al-Hadi Institution Ismail Al-Zein delivered a speech in which he said: \u201cThe institution's message and its vision is to sow joy, as the Marja' Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah established: that we should live life in this joy, the joy of the spirit, because we want to make life joy altogether, and to make the human being take root in life so that he is not incidental to it, visiting life for his lifetime and then departing. When he takes root in life, the human being becomes an energy and lives life in all its depth and extension so as to give in life all his energy.\u201d
He added: \u201cEnergy is a responsibility, and humanity is not only to embrace the categories that have lost something, such as orphans and people with special needs who have lost one of their faculties; rather it encompasses all sides of life, for there are those who have lost something not visible to the eye, such as one who has lost knowledge.\u201d
He pointed out that \u201cthe team of Al-Hadi Institution has been guided by the guidance of the founder and his vision, on which he founded his deeds and his words. The team of Al-Mabarrat, among them the institution's team, worked along this path and sowed will, joy and strength in their pupils so that they might set out from weakness and make strength, and be pioneers in the future who live the movement of responsibility, freedom and justice, and who in the future guide others to the sources of strength, will and freedom in life.\u201d
Afterwards the creative students and their teachers were honoured for the year 2015-2016 for the first prize of the European MATHeater championship, the prize of accreditation of the golden environmental certificate, the first prize for Young Pioneers, the accreditation certificate of the International School Award ISA, and sporting and artistic accomplishments; the ceremony closed with a buffet and refreshments.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
