He called for “following Al-Zahraa as the best remedy for the governing Eastern mentality, which makes the man the master whatever his failures and works at marginalizing woman whatever her accomplishments”.

He called for “respecting woman and appreciating her, and for replying to those who cast doubt on her capacities and to those who look at her with a demeaning look, who deplore her taking up public affairs and her participation in any social field - so that we see examples of people who judge woman to be weak and hold, for example, that she is not qualified to drive a car; and we see some who make her hear the filthiest expressions, as though the young man never errs in anything. The dangerous paradox is when woman believes this and judges herself to be weak.”

He continued: “The examples are many. Count the number of women in parliament or in the municipalities whose elections we are approaching. Why is room not made for woman to arrive? Why does she not get her opportunity? Even in the associations and institutions, and among those who are open towards her, the utmost that woman's role can be is her isolation within a women's framework and women's committees and women's bodies only, without her taking up other affairs in politics, culture or planning. Yes, there is a making-absent of woman; and it is not enough for her to be present in the media as a form - which in many cases is a restriction and a debasement of her role rather than a release of it, because it makes her captive to the camera and its demands, to the demands of stardom and to the game of appearance, all of which we see diminishing her rather than releasing her.”

He called for “purifying some texts that wholly contradict the Holy Quran, especially those texts that are weak in their chain of transmission”, praising “the experience of Bilqis, who took charge of the kingdom of Sheba, and whose experience and wisdom the Quran immortalized as against the arrogance of men”.

He concluded: “Taking Al-Zahraa as a model has its consequences at the level of awareness, education, building and motivation. The Messenger of God came with Islam to strengthen the humanity of the human being, man and woman, and woman had a share in that he put a stop to her being buried alive. And he who puts a stop to the burying alive of a girl when she is small cannot legislate the burying alive of her energies, her thought and her opinion when she is grown. For this reason there was Khadija the wife and the partner, and there was Al-Zahraa, who set out and took up public affairs in the fields of men, addressing them and having them benefit from her knowledge of the Messenger of God.”

[249
270
post-4751","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-gm-news","tag-270
["GET
