The vice-president of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation, the minister Leila Al-Solh Hamadeh, made a visit to Bahman Hospital in the southern suburb of Beirut, where she toured among the patients, especially the children with cancer. She was received by the director general of Al-Mabarrat Association Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah and the hospital's director Ali Karim, in the presence of the deputies Abbas Hashem and Dr Bilal Farhat and a number of doctors, male and female nurses, parents and patients.
On this occasion the recovery of 3 children was celebrated. It is worth noting that the foundation adopts the support of the \u00abJoy Fund\u00bb, dedicated to treating the children enrolled in it, within the framework of the joint cooperation between them.
There were speeches by the hospital's director Karim and by Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah.
As for Al-Solh, she said in her speech: \u00abSick child, I know that the illness deprives you of childhood and steals your smile from you; but know that you are not alone in affliction, for no one has been spared sorrow and no human being has escaped hardship. Struggle against the illness in faith in God's power to heal you, in certainty about the determination of this edifice's doctors to treat you, and in confidence in the Alwaleed Foundation's constant support for your costs. God takes nothing from you without giving you something better in return, if you are patient and seek His reward.\u00bb
She added: \u00abThis place is an oasis of hope for every patient and every wounded person who comes after every bombing committed by the enemies of religion and of Islam in this suburb that refuses to submit - as Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah always wanted it to be and always enjoined. We recall his thought on every difficult day the homeland passes through.\u00bb
