On the occasion of White Cane Day, which symbolizes the blind person's self-reliance, Al-Hadi Institution for Hearing and Visual Impairment and Language and Communication Disorders organized a series of activities, the most prominent of which was the holding of a dialogue seminar in which the media figure from the Al-Mayadeen channel Sami Jaloul and the deputy president of Burj Al-Barajneh municipality Hassan Ammar took part. Jaloul spoke about his experience with the white cane since childhood, while Ammar gave an explanation of the extent of the readiness of the roads' infrastructure and the ease of movement for people with disabilities. At the close of the seminar Jaloul and Ammar answered the students' questions about the role of social institutions in protecting the rights of people with disabilities, the securing of a suitable environment for the blind by the state, and the municipality's role in employing blind people. 
In the same context Al-Hadi Institution hosted graduate students from Al-Kawthar High School within the framework of raising awareness of the rights of people with special needs and shedding light on the talents and capacities of the blind. It also carried out movement and mobility activities for the pupils of the first cycle under the supervision of the occupational therapy section.
It is worth noting that the institution carried out refresher training for its drivers and service providers on how to move about with blind people, and also gave guidance and training on the suitable methods and ways of dealing with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
