Fadlallah at the Imam Al-Khoei Mabarra iftar: The country needs those who live truthfulness in politics and those who fast from corruption and embezzlement<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah sponsored the Ramadan iftar organized by the Council of Friends of the Imam Al-Khoei Charity at Doha Khaldeh, attended by a crowd of social, educational and economic figures.
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Book, then a welcoming speech by the president of the board of friends of the Imam Al-Khoei Mabarra Youssef Hamdan, after which the Mabarra's Zahraat presented a set of religious anthems and hymns.
Then came the speech of Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, at the start of which he thanked the Mabarra's board of friends for organizing this inclusive and varied annual iftar, valuing its role in supporting this Mabarra's journey and standing alongside it amid all the difficult and harsh challenges facing this homeland, and affirming that these institutions were born from the womb of the people and will remain alongside them, working to serve them and to ease their suffering.
His Eminence added: When anyone is in a position of responsibility they must work with a spirit of mercy and love for all people, stand alongside them and offer them a helping hand regardless of their affiliation and their sect. In this country we have worked to fragment the work of good, to divide it and to make it sectarian, and every group has come to care for its own group and its own interests.
His Eminence continued: Do not allow the fanatics who think within their closed sectarian, denominational and family frames and who work for their own circles to find a place among you, for this country cannot be built and brought out of its hardships and crises with a mentality of insularity, closure and fanaticism, but only when we think in terms of its scale and the scale of its people, far from any other consideration..
His Eminence affirmed that emerging from this dark tunnel we have entered at the economic, social, political, financial and health levels is not impossible when all efforts are joined and all means are harnessed and we move from the mentality of sect and denomination and the sharing out of quotas to the mentality of the homeland and of choosing the competent and the sincere.
His Eminence continued: As we stand at the doors of the elections, each one of you must choose well, for this is your opportunity to express your pain. But the question is how we choose and on what basis: will our choice be as we have grown used to in this homeland, on the basis of electing whoever offers us a personal service or a food parcel, or whoever tickles our sectarian and denominational instincts with populist words and slogans? What is required is that the choice be of the sincere and the aware, who possess a programme and a practical, realistic project to halt this collapse this homeland has reached
His Eminence concluded: These institutions will continue to work with a spirit of love and openness towards all the other institutions, so that we may be able to build a homeland for all its people rather than every individual in it dreaming of emigrating somewhere else. The country needs those who live truthfulness in the practice of politics, those who fast from corruption and embezzlement, and those who are faithful to their homeland so that it may be free, protected and strong, and to their people so that they may be dignified, self-sufficient and united\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
