Coinciding with the twelfth anniversary of the passing of the Marja Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah (may God be pleased with him), and under the patronage of Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, the Al-Taakhi Medical Centre in Machghara - the Randa Suleiman centre - opened its magnetic resonance imaging department, in the presence of a number of religious, municipal, cultural, social, educational and health figures
The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Quran, then the Lebanese national anthem, then came Allama Fadlallah's speech, in which he expressed at the outset his happiness at this gathering, which brings together these varied faces to affirm the value of openness that distinguishes this area, and which forms a model in the face of everyone who seeks to strike at this diversity, coexistence and encounter under various banners and projects.
His Eminence added: We meet today on the eve of the twelfth anniversary of the passing of the Marja Fadlallah (may God be pleased with him) to pursue what we pledged at the launch of this charitable humanitarian project, and to affirm the continuation of the journey of serving the human being, every human being, far from their religious, political, party, sectarian and denominational affiliations - this journey begun by His Eminence the father (may his soul be sanctified), who was keen that these institutions be from the people and to the people, in their service and in the service of society. He did not set out with it from a closed sectarian, denominational or political mind; rather he wanted this social work to serve everyone.
His Eminence continued: How much we need this spirit and this beautiful picture that thinks of this homeland and its people. Here we pledge to you to pursue this line and this approach not merely in words but by translating it into humanitarian, educational, care and health institutions that serve society in every region, lift it up and ease the pains of its people - especially as we are passing through a difficult stage and harsh challenges.
His Eminence affirmed that these institutions arose on the people's support for them; they do not depend on this state or that body, even though we know this choice is not easy. But our choice is to be free, to submit to no one's dictates, and to work only through the principles and convictions we have believed in and set out with, in application of God's message and His teachings.
His Eminence affirmed that we are against institutional partisanship; rather we believe in complementarity and cooperation with similar institutions, and therefore our hands were and will remain extended to all those who strive for good and with whom we share this humanitarian concern, especially at the health level.
His Eminence called on all the political forces to join their efforts, to rise above their selfishness, their whims and their fanaticisms, and to think of this homeland and its people - for this country can be built only by cooperation and encounter among its people and its components, and it will not be able to emerge from its crises and its problems except when hands are extended one to another. But if each of us continues to think of their own interests, then this homeland's fate will be ruin and destruction.
His Eminence continued: We still suffer from the negative repercussions of the electoral discourse, which was high-ceilinged, tension-raising and stirring of instincts and fanaticisms. He stressed the importance of preserving what distinguishes this area in its embrace of diversity, calling for preserving it and for not allowing the devils to enter it through more than one door so as to divide its people and strike at this beautiful picture by stirring fears and anxieties here and there.
His Eminence concluded: Let us work to fix this awareness in society's hearts, and let open, serious dialogue, far from flattery, be our road to solving any disagreement or to expressing any anxiety or fear that may be raised here or there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
