The Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association held its general annual scout meeting under the title “The Paths of Scout Education and the Challenges Facing Young People Amid the Crises”, at Al-Kawthar High School on the Airport Road, in the presence of the association's president Commander Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, the president of the Scouts of Lebanon Federation Commander George Gharib and members of the federation's administrative body, a gathering of presidents and general commissioners of several scout associations, in addition to members of the administrative body and the general body of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association and its women and men scout leaders.

The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Quran, then the Lebanese national anthem and the anthem of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association, after which a video report was shown on the most notable scout activities during the 2021-2022 scout year, then an elegy for His Eminence the Marja Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah.

Speaking at the celebration, the president of the Scouts of Lebanon Federation George Gharib said: “Sayyed Fadlallah's wager on the Al-Mabarrat Scouts was no small one; through it he challenged the present and drew the future. How could it be otherwise when he is the one who founded this sister association so that it might complete the mission of the mother institution, Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association - so that the picture might be completed from supporting the orphan to investing in young people, and the bouquet completed in a picture with all its elements, all of them serving the human being and building generations and believing, righteous souls.”

After that the president of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah spoke, stressing “the importance of scout education amid the difficult circumstances and challenges our homeland Lebanon is passing through”, and pointing out that “community scout education in the service of the human being is a road to God, because serving people is the summit of worship, as related from the Marja Sayyed Fadlallah”

He noted: “The most important challenges facing young people that we live through amid the crises are patience in learning and patience in possessing a value-based awareness, so that society may remain balanced despite the hardship society in general and young people in particular are living through.”

He said: “The most important path of scout education in this age is awareness of the value of a sense of responsibility towards oneself, towards others and towards nature - it is the foundation for building a society in which values form a way of life, and it is embodied in discharging the trust, in gentleness, in pardoning people and appreciating their circumstances, in respecting human dignity, in truthfulness with oneself, in patience and in the good word.”

He held that “the value of continuous learning and the value of faith in God form the container for all the positive values in the face of the negative values produced by some of our society these days, when it exploits the crises to spread the values of injustice, betrayal, greed, personal interest and self-serving monopoly”.

He pointed out that “the role of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts is to awaken the reserves of strength in a person so that they may develop, compete and offer the moral and value-based model - the model in which dialogue, cooperation, transparency and acceptance of the other are the foundation”.

He thanked the scout leaders “for the redoubled efforts they exert to ease the burden on our people and our society”, promising “to press on with cooperation with all the scout associations working on the soil of the homeland, in order to confront the challenges without feeling discouraged during the crises”. At the close of the meeting a group of veteran scout leaders who accompanied the association's launch in 1999 were honoured, alongside the honouring of the leaders who took part in the training courses held this year.
