Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association distributed “Eid clothing” to 4,500 children - orphans, those in difficult social circumstances and those with special needs - during celebrations held on the eve of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr at its care institutions spread across the various Lebanese regions, in the presence of supporters, sponsors, friends and social figures.
In Beirut, Al-Mabarrat held a central iftar and celebration at Al-Saha Heritage Village, organized by the Lady Khadija Al-Kubra Charity, during which Eid clothing and Eid gifts were distributed to the children amid an atmosphere of joy and delight.
The ceremony opened with a Quranic recitation by student Haidar Kassas, followed by artistic segments presented by the arts troupe of the Lady Khadija Charity, then a word from the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, in which he welcomed “Al-Mabarrat's dear guests, whose company and affection these leading care institutions have grown used to over the echo of many years”.
He added: “Among the blessings of this night, as of many nights at Al-Mabarrat's institutions, is the honoring of orphans in a distinctive way. We celebrate the Eid with them and through them, and they are part of our Eid, by which the fasting and the night prayer are made complete.”
He expressed the wish that “Al-Mabarrat's daughters and sons grow up in Al-Mabarrat's embrace in pride and dignity, and reach the highest degrees of learning, faith and ethics, equipping themselves with culture, awareness and openness to God and to people - all people - through the doors of knowledge and learning, and openness to what is new and to contemporary developments, because they represent the delight of life and the energy of hope, as His Eminence the religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah used to say”.
Fadlallah thanked “the administration of the Lady Khadija Charity and all those working in it, the people of goodness who contributed to honoring the orphan, and the Al-Mabarrat family inside and outside Al-Mabarrat, who together form human harmony in its brightest image”.
At the close of the ceremony, Eid clothing, Eid gifts and presents were distributed to the honored children.
It is worth noting that the “Eid clothing project” is among the humanitarian projects Al-Mabarrat carries out during Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, with the aim of bringing joy to the hearts of orphaned children. Total spending last year (2023) came to around 337,500 US dollars.
