The president of the “Amili Thought Meeting” and imam of the town of Aynata Sayyed Ali Abdel Latif Fadlallah called on “the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work with the concerned authorities in Saudi Arabia to uncover the fate of the Lebanese pilgrims missing in the holy lands and to bring back the wounded, to hasten the investigations, to reveal the circumstances of what happened and to put an end to all the rumours and interpretations”.
Sayyed Fadlallah's words came during his patronage of the ceremony honouring the graduates and the outstanding students at “Al-Ishraq School”, which belongs to “Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association”, in Bint Jbeil, in the presence of the head of the office of relations and sponsorship at Al-Mabarrat Association Sayyed Ali Hussein, the religious supervisor Sheikh Imad Kassem, representatives of educational institutions, mabarrats and institutes, municipal, mukhtar and social figures, and a crowd of parents.
Fadlallah touched on the internal situation, calling on the Lebanese fabric to “hold fast to the language of national dialogue, far from accusations, insults and denominational and sectarian congestion”.
He added: “This homeland cannot be the homeland of justice, equality and coexistence, a homeland for all its sons, unless the language of respect and dialogue prevails in it among all its components.”
He hoped that the popular movement would be a humane one, far from “politics, and that it would raise the demands arising from the suffering of the deprived and the oppressed people so as to attain deliverance from the diseases and blemishes the homeland suffers from”.
Sayyed Fadlallah addressed the students being honoured, saying: “The late founder, the renewing marja' Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, wanted these institutions to be a heading for knowledge and excellence and a civilizational model in which the meaning of knowledge is blended with religion for the service of humanity, and wanted them to elevate all the scientific energies for the sake of building a life that relies on openness and not on withdrawal and closure.”
Then the school's principal Rabia Bayadoun delivered a speech in which she thanked the ceremony's patron and those present and offered congratulations and blessings to the parents and the students. The ceremony included a speech for the students' parents delivered by Professor Khalil Bayadoun, and a graduates' speech delivered by Malika Faour, while the students presented the anthem “We Shall Not Vanish”.
The ceremony closed with the showing of a film entitled “Stations from My Life” and the distribution of certificates and shields to the graduates and the outstanding students.
