The religious guidance department at Al-Basha'er Secondary School organized an interactive gathering in the atmosphere of the sacred month of Muharram, and in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the passing of the religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah (RA), bringing together thought, education and the feeling of faith.
The gathering opened with a recitation of clear verses from the Wise Remembrance by Mr. Mohammad Assaf, after which a video was shown entitled “From the Fragrance of Husseini Thought at Al-Basha'er Secondary School”, containing heartfelt and intellectual excerpts from the teachers' words about the meanings of Ashura and its enduring values.
This was followed by video presentations and interactive discussions delivered by the educators, reflecting the fruit of the reflection circles held with the pupils, which addressed subjects drawn from the booklet “Thoughts on Ashura”, foremost among them: Karbala as an Islamic reform movement, the reforming dimension in Imam Hussein's (PBUH) uprising, and the role of Lady Zainab (PBUH) and her ability to carry the voice of Karbala and to confront oppression.
The gathering also included a moving rendition of verses from the poem “You Stood Alone” from the collection On the Paths of the Seventies by the religious authority Sayyed Fadlallah (RA), in the voice of the Islamic education coordinator Ms. Khadija Qarwash, carrying within it a heartfelt depth and a sincere expression of the Husseini stance.
The gathering then closed with a Quranic recitation dedicated to the soul of the founding religious authority Sayyed Fadlallah, and concluded with a Husseini majlis recited by Mr. Mohammad Assaf.
