Under the patronage and in the presence of Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah and under the title “My Hijab Is the Colours of Joy”, Al-Rahma High School in Kfarjoz honoured its girls who had reached the age of religious obligation and put on the hijab, in the school's ceremonies hall, in the presence of the school's director Mrs. Soulaf Hashem; the director of the Imam Al-Rida Mabarra Rabiaa Al-Faqih; the school's religious supervisor Sheikh Ali Ayoub; the director of the office of MP Hajj Mohammad Raad, Hajj Ali Qansou; the correspondent of the National News Agency Mr. Ali Dawoud; the head of the sponsorship and public relations office in Nabatieh Sheikh Ali Ghandour; the head of the Kfartebnit municipality engineer Fouad Yassine; the head of the parents' committee engineer Naji Rammal; the representative of the educational mobilization in the second district Sayyed Hamza Safi Eddine; the head of the sector in the second district engineer Safa Safa; the representative of AUC University Dr. Ali Mroueh; the representative of Amjad Institute Mr. Ali Sharifa; the director of Al-Mustafa High School Dr. Qassem Kallout; alongside the cycle directors and the general supervisor, the heads of a number of municipalities, mukhtars, cultural and educational figures, and the families of the girls being honoured.
It began with clear verses from the Quran, followed by the national anthem, then a screening of films documenting the religious-maturity celebrations, and artistic items and anthems presented by the girls being honoured. Then came the speech of Allama Fadlallah, in which he held that “putting on the hijab is the beginning of their road towards bearing responsibility and the trust, and we are confident that they will bear it with every confidence, worthiness, awareness, will and determination”.
He thanked the families for “their great role and their effort in raising their children to be a mission-driven, believing generation and an active element in society, by encouraging them to walk the road of truth and guidance”, praising “the great role Al-Rahma High School plays in this field by rooting Islamic and national concepts and strengthening in them the language of openness and dialogue”.
His Eminence affirmed that “this beautiful picture of this constellation of girls wearing the hijab with full conviction and pride has been able to refute all the claims others try to attach to the hijab as restricting a woman's freedom and taking her out of the sphere of activity and joy, and the other sayings and rumours directed at this obligation with the aim of undermining it”, pointing out that “our girls have proved that the hijab is an expression of a mission-driven moral commitment and a spiritual joy, resting on firm convictions that affirm her humanity and strip from her all the fetters of shackling, exploitation, ignorance, backwardness and selfishness”.
He said: Today we are offering our society girls who carry all this vitality and steadfastness in presenting an exemplary message through their morals, their faith and their humanity, and in being a good for this society; who offer sacrifices so that this homeland may be free, dignified and independent, not sold in others' markets nor an echo of their projects.” He also stressed “the necessity of strengthening women's role in society and protecting them by every means, law and piece of legislation”.
He continued: “It is painful that instead of a political and official mobilization to address the difficult living crisis the homeland is going through, everyone is absorbed in running the election machines on the widest scale, but with inflammatory methods of agitation, as though we were facing a sectarian and political war of Dahes and Ghabraa.”
He concluded: We want the political forces and the electoral components to fear God in their discourse, which we hope will be balanced,
At the close of the ceremony Allama Fadlallah, the school's director and the Mabarra's director distributed the gifts to the girls being honoured.
