The Islamic Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association in Lebanon held its annual iftar banquet in the public courtyard of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Mabarrat in Maaroub, in the presence of Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, the president of the Gathering of Muslim Scholars in Lebanon Allama Sheikh Ahmad Al-Zein, representatives of the Imam Al-Sadr institutions and of Mrs Rabab Al-Sadr Sharafeddine, Father William Nakhleh, the commander of the Korean forces serving within UNIFIL, Sheikh Adel Al-Turki, a delegation of scholars from Palestine, representatives of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, and municipal, mukhtar, military, educational and union figures and personalities, a gathering of scholars and a crowd of guests.
The iftar included a blessed Quranic recitation and then the call to the sunset prayer, after which came a speech of introduction, presentation and welcome to those present. There was a speech by Sayyed Ali Fadlallah in which he spoke about Al-Mabarrat's policy and its orientations in the coming stages. He continued by saying that it is the month of mercy, repentance and brotherhood, and that this iftar had been held despite the threats of the takfiri groups, asking the Lord to bestow goodness on everyone and continued health and well-being.
