Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association held the third annual meeting for those working in its institutions, in Haret Hreik. The meeting featured a speech by the association's president Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, which he began by congratulating those working in these institutions on the occasion of Eid Al-Ghadir, holding “that this feast makes us feel the responsibility and the great role we should play so as to embody, in deed and in commitment, the guardianship of the Commander of the Faithful”.

He added: “This commitment carries no denominational or fanatical dimension against others, because Ali was a pioneer of Islamic and human unity.” He said: “Imam Ali constituted one of the banners of the example after the Messenger of God; from him we learn to hold to truth and justice with people in whatever position we are in - for commitment to the guardianship of Ali is not through slogans but through being just with the near and the far, with the friend and the enemy.”

He continued: “It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve these institutions by closing their gaps and their points of weakness, if any exist, and not by covering them up, and by lifting them up so that they may carry out their role in building society, developing it and serving its people”, pointing out that these institutions did not come into being to be a personal or family inheritance or for the account of a political position or the like, nor to be in confrontation with the other institutions but with the aim of cooperating with them”.

He affirmed “that we have worked and will continue to work for transparent institutions utterly far from monopoly, favouritism and corruption - and this is what we want to be the character of this homeland”.

He concluded: “We ask those who work to magnify the mistakes at these institutions by spreading false and untrue rumours: in whose interest is the destruction of these institutions, whose aim is to develop this society and serve its people?”

After that a documentary film about those working at Al-Mabarrat was screened, along with artistic items, then an open discussion between the Director General Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah and the staff, in which he stressed the importance of this gathering, which he hoped would be repeated in the coming years. He said: “Al-Mabarrat's family, with all its diversity, meets this year in the shade of reaching forty years, and the slogan is “For the Good of the Human Being and of Life”. If we reflect on it and go back a little we would see where these institutions were and where they have become.”

He added: “Forty years of great achievements and of giving in which each one of you had a contribution to a building block of this structure extending across the edges of the homeland and at its heart.”

He said: “Forty years ago the institutions were barren, arid land. Look now at the residential quarters and the institutions - they have come to pulse with life and vitality, according to the vitality of the land and its greenness, the vitality of the human being who walks within it, and the faith-based spiritual vitality when God is remembered, known and glorified at its heart and in its corners.”

He continued: “Al-Mabarrat grew and you grew with it, and here you are helping in its development and its progress through self-development, holding courses and developing capacities. Al-Mabarrat reached what it has reached only through continuous development.”

Dr. Fadlallah affirmed the necessity of adhering to the systems, abiding by the quality system and writing down the mechanisms, which allows continuity however the individuals change, stressing the importance of belonging to the association and its effect on individuals' productivity.
