The general commission of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association organized the first annual training meeting for scout leaders, entitled “Humanitarian Values, the Pulse of the Spirit in Scout Work”, with the participation of more than a hundred leaders from all the scout commissions.
The meeting opened with a minute's silence for the souls of the resistance's martyrs in Gaza and Lebanon, after which the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association and president of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah delivered a speech, welcoming at the outset the participating leaders and noting their voluntary work. He said: “Whatever our positions in employment, leadership or knowledge, we are required, through our daily interaction with those around us, to be faithful and sincere and to keep faith with those who have done us good.”
He called on the scouts “to abide by the instructions of the scout leadership and at the same time to abide by truthfulness and to discharge the trust with those under their leadership”, and also called on them “to volunteer and to learn continuously through taking part in the varied programmes and activities, including protecting the environment, which ensures the sustainability of resources for coming generations”.
After that came a speech by the association's general commissioner, Commander Mustafa Abdo, in which he spoke of “the relationship binding the scout leader to the scouts' families and how to strengthen this relationship”, followed by two training workshops: one on “the principles of the child protection policy in scout work”, delivered by Alia Abou Dia, acting head of the juvenile protection department at the Ministry of Social Affairs, and another on “the qualities of the scout leader in the age of digitization”, delivered by the member of the administrative body of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association Layal Mansour.
The meeting closed with the farewell anthem, sung by the leaders of the Al-Mabarrat Scouts Association present.
