The festival opened with the Lebanese national anthem, followed by a video of the previous Spring Festival. After that the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah delivered a speech in which he said: “Our launch today of the Spring Festival 2023 is a launch toward new seasons whose results crowd the schools' threshing floors despite the many obstacles and difficulties caused by Lebanon's disheartening crises - and this thanks to the wills that support these talents and the eyes that watch over them… and thanks to hearts filled with belief in these students' abilities and in the duty of embracing them, caring for them, developing their creativity and supporting them so as to bring them to the future we seek.”
He pointed out that: “the spaces Al-Mabarrat provides for innovation, creativity and the showing of talent set out from educational strategies that look to the future… that plan… that implement… and that evaluate - translated by inspired and inspiring minds, tender hearts and blessed hands: the administrations of Al-Mabarrat's schools, their teachers, their directorates, their activities department, the variety of their activity officers, their religious and care supervision, and all the sincere staff.”
He addressed the students, saying: “You need only believe in the abilities you possess and to persevere in developing these abilities through training, application and persistence in learning, attainment and reading… while being aware of the importance of activities in refining your skills and your knowledge, widening your horizons and turning theoretical knowledge into applied reality.”
He thanked the competitions' judging committees, the organizers and the institutions' administrations for “insisting on the permanence of this spring activity and not compromising on it. This is the best proof of your sincerity, the nobility of your aspirations and the soundness of your aims”, adding: “You will remain the spirit that flows through the folds of our generations, stirring their feelings and stretching out as lofty branches from your hearts; and from your planting will spring fruits than which none is sweeter or more delicious, when you look at thousands of your pupils and children as lamps lighting beacons of knowledge, character and faith.”
In closing, Dr. Fadlallah addressed a word of thanks to the supporters, saying: “I would like, in my own name and in the name of the students, to send a greeting of love, thanks and gratitude to all these supporters in every place, for the time, the care and the means they give so that the students may be the power of change, production, innovation and creation.”
