A number of teachers from Al-Mabarrat schools (Al-Kawthar Secondary School, Al-Abrar Secondary School and Al-Hassan Secondary School) took part in a training programme on strengthening a culture of democratic citizenship, organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Saint Joseph University (USJ) in cooperation with the Danmission organization.

Twenty teachers from various private schools across the Lebanese regions and communities took part in the programme, with the training covering central topics such as democracy, active citizenship and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programme was crowned by student initiatives within the schools, aimed at translating theoretical concepts into real and interactive practice that helps build responsible civic awareness among students.

At the close of the programme, during the certificate ceremony, Ms. Kirsten Auken, Regional Director of Danmission for the Middle East and North Africa, affirmed the importance of teachers' mission, stressing their role in raising coming generations and instilling democratic values in them.

It is worth noting that this participation comes within Al-Mabarrat's institutions' commitment to strengthening teachers' role in rooting the values of citizenship and openness and in building a cohesive society that respects plurality and difference.
