The “Twelfth TAMAM Forum”, held in Jordan, honored the late director of Al-Kawthar Secondary School, Ms. Hajjeh Rana Ismail, at a dinner attended by the forum's participants from various Arab countries. A short film prepared by the “TAMAM” team was shown, summarizing the educational path of the late Hajjeh Rana and her role in adopting the TAMAM school-based development project and helping to lead it, from its founding in 2007 until shortly before her passing in 2022, alongside the guiding team from the American University. The late Ismail turned thought into practical work in the field, and was present in the experiments not only to lead them but to prove success and make it general.” On the occasion, the director of the TAMAM project and professor at the American University Dr. Rima Karami delivered a speech in which she said: “Hajjeh Rana Ismail was a prominent and influential figure in the TAMAM project, an essential part of its beginnings and one of its earliest pioneers. She had a great role in developing the model of teaching and learning in Lebanon through her effective participation and her deep analyses.” She added: “Hajjeh Rana was distinguished by her strong presence, her ability to motivate others and her drive to achieve innovation in the field of education. She was the first to spread the TAMAM culture in her school, where she left a clear mark on the TAMAM project. Thanks to her, the project was able to benefit from valuable TAMAM experiences and analyses, which contributed markedly to developing the educational model.” The forum also gave Al-Kawthar Secondary School, part of Al-Mabarrat schools, a shield of appreciation received by the school's director Ms. Rana Kobeissi, “for meeting the criteria of the self-renewing school after 17 years of partnership in the TAMAM project with the American University of Beirut, governed by sincerity, cooperation, adoption, and diligent and persistent work in training, empowerment, expansion, good relations and effective communication”. According to the organizers, the school was honored “for its distinction in adopting the TAMAM approach and its full support for this project, and for providing the means and facilities needed to support the work in line with the TAMAM journey for leading development and renewal”. The organizing committee explained: “The school expanded in building leadership capacities and spread the TAMAM culture in the school and in Al-Mabarrat schools generally, and took part in a research project to build a partnership with the family.” Ms. Kobeissi gave an intervention at the forum session “Partnership between the Family and the Educational Institution: An Experimental Model toward a Community School in Harmony with Its Environment”, in which she presented the path and results of the research experiment the school is leading with the TAMAM team. It is worth noting that the director of the educational resources centre at Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association, Ms. Ayat Nour Eddine, received the shield of appreciation awarded to Ms. Rana Ismail, representing the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah.
