The “Zadi Toward the Good Life Unit” at Al-Mabarrat's care institutions and the Al-Mabarrat Scouts held, on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, a virtual seminar for their orphaned children, chaired by the graduate engineer Maysaa Shaito.

Speaking at the seminar was His Eminence Sayyed Jaafar Fadlallah, who pointed to “the need to thank God for His blessings, among them the blessing of bodily health and its preservation”, holding that “bringing harm upon oneself and upon others is forbidden in religious law, and smoking in all its forms is an instance of harm because its harm is greater than its benefit”

He called for “bearing responsibility, spreading the necessary awareness, and reflecting on protecting society and the generations from all the dangers that threaten them”.

After that the psychology specialist and director of Al-Shifa Hospital Dr. Hassan Burji spoke about the negative and lethal effect of smoking and its harms to the whole body and the diseases it causes. He pointed to the psychological effects and the proposed solutions for giving up smoking and guarding against its evils, and to the need to organize campaigns aimed at quitting smoking.

At the close of the seminar the children and the scouts put their questions and interventions in this field
