The Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Abbas Al-Halabi received a set of books on the thought of Al-Mabarrat's founder Allama Sheikh Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah from the president of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, during a visit by a delegation from Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association to the minister at the Ministry of Education - UNESCO.
The delegation comprised the vice-president of the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL) Ahmad Fadlallah, the vice-president of the university for administrative and financial affairs Yasser Fadlallah, the director of the Al-Mabarrat educational complex Sheikh Fouad Khreis, and the director of care affairs at Al-Mabarrat Association Ibrahim Alaa Eddine.
The minister welcomed the delegation, recalling the close relationship that bound him to the late founding Allama, and expressing his great appreciation for the founder and for the association, the university and the schools, which play a very important educational and social role in Lebanon. He congratulated those in charge of these institutions on walking the road of quality, distinction and care for society's children in these harsh circumstances.
The minister affirmed that “Al-Mabarrat is a long-established, mission-driven institution, and we at the ministry have worked only for education; our concern is saving teaching in all its kinds and at all its levels. Despite all the circumstances we are currently restoring one hundred schools and are seeking to restore another hundred and to provide solar energy, and we have also launched the educational curricula workshop.”
Fadlallah
Fadlallah thanked Al-Halabi for his patronage of the students' graduation ceremony at the university, affirming that his attendance constitutes a support for the university and gives the association's institutions further support, especially as its schools contain some 23,000 pupils, operate in Lebanese pounds and are passing through many difficulties.
The delegation asked for the decision to begin teaching nursing to be expedited and for the university's applications regarding certificates to be decided quickly. The minister affirmed that “the technical committees are working at an unprecedented pace and meet twice a week to decide on all completed applications and refer them to the Higher Education Council, and therefore this will not be delayed”.
