A Lebanese Achievement in Cybersecurity: USAL University Students Discover Vulnerabilities in the Systems of Amazon, Meta and LinkedIn

In an achievement that highlights Lebanese capabilities in cybersecurity, students Qusay Al-Akli and Hassan Said, of the Computer Science Department at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon (USAL), discovered critical security vulnerabilities in the systems of global technology giants: Amazon, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and LinkedIn.
The achievement won wide recognition from all three companies, which added the two students' names to their respective halls of fame.
This achievement reflects the high standard of teaching at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon, and confirms the ability of Lebanese young people to compete globally in advanced technology fields.
Commenting on the achievement, the Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon, Dr. Ahmad Fadlallah, said: “This achievement is a source of pride for all of us at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon. It embodies our commitment to providing high-quality education that keeps pace with the latest technological developments, and it underlines the importance of supporting young talent in the fields of innovation and modern technology. We believe our young people are Lebanon's future, and we will continue working to give them all the support they need to achieve their ambitions.”
