Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association distributed “eid clothing” to 4,000 children among the orphans, the difficult social cases and people with special needs, during celebrations held on the eve of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr at its care institutions across the various Lebanese regions.
The clothing comprised eid clothes, footwear and toys for the children, in addition to the eid gift. The children chose their eid clothes themselves, amid strict preventive measures out of concern for their safety.
During the central ceremony held at the Lady Khadija Mabarra belonging to Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association in Beirut, the association's Director General Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah delivered a speech in which he affirmed “Al-Mabarrat's continuation in bearing its responsibilities towards these marginalized groups”, pointing out that “the association will remain a flame of giving in a time of crises”.
He added: “We look to a greater role to be exercised by the state and its institutions in easing the weight of the need and deprivation our children live because of the crises we are living through in Lebanon at more than one level
He said: “Al-Mabarrat's forty-third eid this year coincides with the blessed month of Ramadan, so the will to give is doubled in the month of goodness and blessing - with the affirmation that Al-Mabarrat will remain, through the efforts of those working in it, a banner of goodness and giving, extending a helping hand to everyone in need however severe the circumstances.”
Fadlallah thanked “all the people of goodness and the supporters of Al-Mabarrat's journey during its long years of giving”, and thanked in particular “those who contributed to the eid clothing and eid gift project this year, whom the difficult economic conditions did not deter from doing good”, hoping that “God may return the feasts to our beloved homeland in better economic and health conditions”.
It should be noted that the ceremony was presented by the journalist Hussein Abdel Sater and included conjuring tricks and a competition for the orphans presented by the actor Mohammad Shamas, during which many prizes were distributed amid an atmosphere of joy and delight.
For the record, the “eid clothing” project is among the humanitarian projects Al-Mabarrat carries out during the Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, with the aim of bringing joy to children's hearts and drawing a smile on their faces, proceeding from its social responsibility towards orphans, the needy and people with special needs.
