A training project was carried out in four centres distributed between Beirut, Nabatieh, Khiam and Hermel, within the framework of the partnership contract signed between Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association and the French Cultural Centre on improving the linguistic level of male and female teachers who use French in teaching scientific subjects and the French language. 75 male and female teachers from Al-Mabarrat obtained DELF certificates at levels B1 and B2.

For the occasion, the centre's administration celebrated the success achieved by Al-Mabarrat's teachers and held a ceremony during which the certificates were distributed to those who had passed, in the presence of the director of the French Cultural Centre in Lebanon Denis Louche, his assistant Carole Dandeville, the official in charge of certificates at the International Centre for Academic Training (CIEP) Bruno Mègre, the head of the French language training section Camille Le Gall, the director general of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah, trainers, and supervisors from the directorate of education and teaching at Al-Mabarrat.

The ceremony included a speech by the director of the French Cultural Centre in which he praised “Al-Mabarrat Association's efforts in the continuous training and qualification of teachers, and the association's attention to the French language”. There was also a speech by Fadlallah in which he said: “Al-Mabarrat Association is an association open to various centres, among them the French Cultural Centre, which represents the values of France: liberty, fraternity and equality.”

He added: “We appreciate the role France plays in improving the level of education in Lebanon through the various activities the centre holds to strengthen the teaching of French and to activate educational and cultural activities at the level of the Francophonie.”

Fadlallah affirmed “that Al-Mabarrat schools are ready to cooperate and to unite efforts with the other schools in Lebanon to support the teaching of French, which is a living language that stirs the feelings and touches the spirit; and this meeting is nothing but proof of the attention we give to this language”.

The ceremony closed with a cocktail in the centre's courtyard in honour of those being celebrated.
