Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association held an honouring celebration at Bahman Hospital on the occasion of World Nurses Day, which included a speech by the director general of Al-Mabarrat Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah in which he denied that any bank account of Al-Mabarrat had been frozen.
Fadlallah said: “For more than 30 years Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association has declared that it is a charitable, humanitarian, message-driven and developmental association concerned with the human being - whether an orphan, a pupil, a poor person, a sick person or an elderly person - and provides him with the necessary services.”
He added: “On the social networking sites these days, and in some statements, it is said that Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association has had some of its bank accounts frozen. This talk is untrue: no account of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association has been frozen, and the name of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association has not been raised among any of these names being raised in the arena today, neither through America nor through anyone other than America.”
He pointed out that “there are Lebanese banks that are afraid, and this results from a matter of their own; they are trying to close some accounts, as they do with many people amid the confusion the country is living”.
The celebration also included the honouring of a number of male and female nurses, and there was a speech for the occasion by the hospital's director Ali Karim, in which he valued the giving of those working at the hospital, addressing thanks and congratulations to those being honoured.
