Lady Maryam Charity organized a visit for a group of the children to the public library of the scholar and religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, as part of the summer programme the charity is running and within its planned intellectual and cultural activities.
The visit aimed to acquaint the children with the importance of reading and to strengthen their relationship with books, through a tour of the library's sections and a look at its holdings, which included religious, literary, scientific and historical books.
The participants also listened to a brief account of the life of the religious authority Sayyed Fadlallah, and of the role of reading in forming an aware and cultivated character.
An awareness activity at Lady Maryam Charity on the dangers of mines and cluster bombs
Lady Maryam Charity, in cooperation with the Bi'atouna Association, organized an awareness activity for its children on the dangers of mines and cluster bombs, within the summer educational and awareness activities, with the aim of raising the level of awareness and acquainting the participants with the means of prevention and with the right way to act if they encounter them.
The activity included an explanatory presentation, teaching models, and a simplified explanation suited to the different age groups. Awareness leaflets were also distributed containing basic information on how to recognize suspicious objects and report them.
The activity saw engagement from the children, who asked questions related to the content presented, which helped strengthen the aims of the awareness gathering.
