Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah patronized the electronic Ramadan evening organized by Al-Hadi Institution for Hearing and Visual Impairment and Language and Communication Disorders in the atmosphere of the blessed month of Ramadan.

After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the institution's band playing a heritage musical piece inspired by the occasion, the institution's director Sheikh Ismail Al-Zein delivered a speech in which he said: The month of Ramadan comes for the second time, and the health situation in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic prevents meeting in person, so this virtual gathering brings us together now within the expanses of your institution, which you never left for a day and which was always the object of your care, until it produced the distinguished harvest in every field.

He affirmed the institution's continued giving during the general lockdown in the process of distance learning, where its plans were completed and carried out to the letter; it developed the scope of digital teaching and care, documented and adopted it, and developed a teaching and training system for pupils and families on those platforms. He pointed to its pupils' excellence and merit in many national, international and regional scientific, artistic and sporting competitions in which they took part.

In closing came the speech of the evening's patron Allama Sayyed Ali Fadlallah, in which he said: We meet today to affirm the will to do good in extending a helping hand to those who need our help, by which we express our humanity, our faith and our sincerity to our homeland. He held that a person is not a human being and does not deserve the title of humanity except when they emerge from the limits of their self towards the other human being, and when they live the pains of others, their hopes and their ambitions; and they are not a believer except when they love for their brother what they love for themselves and hate for them what they hate for themselves…

He held that sincerity to the homeland is realized only by working to solve its problems and its issues and to lift it up; and our reality will not be safe if each of us continues to think within the limits of their self and their interests, or within the limits of their sect, their denomination or their political or social position..

His Eminence added: If we suffer in our reality, it is because of the selfishness that still nests in our souls - it is what has led to all this decay we live within our societies or at the level of the homeland, and it was the basic cause of the crises buffeting us.. Selfishness has killed us, and the selfish have killed all our dreams.

He called on the state to bear its responsibility in this field by activating the existing laws, which approved health and social insurance for this category of citizens - but sadly they are not applied; and if they were applied most of their problems would be solved and they would carry out their roles in life in the best way the circumstances allow.

His Eminence continued: But in this country we have grown used to not waiting for the state, even though we want it - for it proves to us every day that it is far from its citizens' needs and drowning in its corruption and in those who tamper with its resources.

He concluded his words: We will continue to call for and work for the just state.. the state of the citizen.. the state of the human being. But until we reach this goal, we will not leave these people to suffer and hurt alone: we will pull out their thorns with our fingernails.. and work to extend a helping hand to them, to motivate them and strengthen their resolve, to remove the obstacles before them, and to work on securing job opportunities and providing the things they need in life
