Al-Ishraq School launched the Skills Builder programme, which aims to build learners' essential and life skills across the various school stages, from kindergarten through to secondary level.
Implementation began with an explanation of the programme's importance drawn from Quranic values and the thought of the religious authority Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah. Students were then introduced to the skills to be practised, which were distributed across the subjects so as to ensure full coverage. This was done through coordination meetings among the teachers of each class, to ensure horizontal integration in the teaching plan and to align the general educational directions with the particular character of the school's learning environment.
The programme covered all stages from the baseline survey, through training and implementation, to the assessment stage using qualitative rubrics that ensure accuracy and objectivity in assessment and help make better use of its results. This stage concluded with class councils to determine the final assessment for each student.
The school's educational supervision team was also careful to follow the programme's implementation by attending classes and giving feedback to teachers, with the aim of continuous improvement and of ensuring the programme's intended goals are achieved.
