The Director of Al-Mabarrat's Educational Resources Center, Ayat Nour El Din, took part in the educational forum “Education from Kindergarten to Grade Twelve in Lebanon: Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by Al-Ahliah School in cooperation with the American University of Beirut, under the patronage of the Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, as part of a national dialogue aimed at discussing the reality of school education in Lebanon and exploring ways to develop it amid the current challenges.
Al-Mabarrat's contribution came within a panel discussion devoted to the role of school-centered governance and participatory leadership in supporting the sustainability of Lebanese schools. The session brought together a selection of educational and academic figures, including the former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the American University, Dr. Nadim Cortas; the Ministry of Education's advisor for higher education, Dr. Adnan El-Amine; the Principal of Saba Zreik Public School, Ms. Molouk Mehrez; and the Secretary-General of Catholic Schools in Lebanon, Father Youssef Nasr. The discussion was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University, Dr. Souma Abou Jaoude.
Ms. Nour El Din's contribution focused on a practical reading of the integration of governance and school leadership in the context of the crises Lebanon is witnessing, through the model offered by Al-Mabarrat schools, highlighting the impact of this integration in organizing educational work and ensuring its continuity. This contribution offered a grounded approach to the ongoing discussion on the sustainability of the Lebanese school, and on the role of clear institutional structures in supporting the school in fulfilling its educational and humanitarian mission under changing circumstances.
This participation comes as part of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association's commitment to contributing to national educational discussions and exchanging expertise on questions of governance and school leadership, in a way that supports the development of educational work and strengthens the sustainability of educational institutions in Lebanon
