Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association distributed the eid clothing to 4,550 orphan boys and girls at its care institutions spread across the various Lebanese regions.
The clothing comprised new clothes, footwear, eid gifts, presents and toys, distributed to the orphans at recreational parties featuring varied artistic items from the eid atmosphere, and an iftar for the children at the Al-Saha heritage village with the participation of the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, supporters, volunteers, sponsors and graduates.
The ceremony opened with varied artistic items presented by the choir of the Lady Khadija Al-Kubra Mabarra, then a speech by the graduate Faa Yassine, then a speech by Dr. Fadlallah which read:
“This is the task in which the wills to do good have met from here and there, so as to make of the thousands of orphans embraced by the institutions of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association pioneers for leading a mission-driven society - because the purpose of care at the association's institutions is to bring the orphan to a high level of balance in mind, spirit and body.. It is beautiful that we help orphans with what money is available, but that this money should turn into institutional work that plans, founds and builds for the present and the future is far better.”
He addressed the sponsors and supporters, saying: “The joy you help to plant on the orphans' faces is indescribable; it is help mingled with a gesture of tenderness, and thereby change occurs - through your cooperation with Al-Mabarrat's institutions and the drawing of a smile on the lips of children who find happiness at these institutions. All difficulties, however severe, will only increase us in determination and insistence on communication, cooperation and solidarity, so that Al-Mabarrat may remain the embrace of the orphans however harsh the times and however the days change.”
He addressed the orphaned children, saying: “We gather with you on this occasion to live the meanings of the eid and its joy - and you are its beautiful colours and its delight. The meanings of the eid are not complete without your smile. From all my heart I offer you on this day the deepest feelings of love; you are the hope of the future, and Al-Mabarrat's eid is with you as you grow, succeed and attain high grades. I see in your eyes a future that rises as the sun rises, so that its light may embrace the universe and life.”
He concluded: “Our meeting today is a meeting on goodness in the nights of pardon and forgiveness. We pledge to you to continue in brilliance, success, development and progress, and that Al-Mabarrat will continue to express your ambitions and the ambitions of all people for change and for achieving a better future for the orphans, and will continue to practise a policy of openness to the near and the far society.”
