By way of clarification regarding the closure of the orphans' station in Deir Al-Zahrani in the southern region, Nabatieh governorate, we note the following:
1 - The Deir Al-Zahrani station operated before the eid, over 3 days, 24 hours a day to meet people's needs for petrol and diesel. On Friday, while awaiting the arrival of another quantity of petrol, the station's manager gave the staff - all of them Lebanese - a period of three or four hours to greet their families and then to reopen the station to receive the quantity and begin work. During the period of partial closure a General Security patrol came and sealed the station with red wax because of the presence of a small quantity of petrol in its tanks.

2 - The closure of the orphans' station in Deir Al-Zahrani took place because of the availability of a quantity of petrol in its tanks - a quantity that does not indicate monopolizing or stockpiling (for monopolizing takes place with diesel and not with petrol) - and it cannot be traded or sold on the black market, because it is not monopolized but sold at the official price at all the stations across Lebanese territory.

3 - The #orphans_stations are among the few stations that have continued selling diesel and petrol to all people without exception and at the official price. They are keen on their commitment to their approach and keen on people's interests, as they have always been and will remain.

4 - With reference to the existence of assignments from the security forces delivered to the orphans' stations from time to time - the latest delivered on Friday and Saturday - under which the orphans' stations must distribute the required quantity to their stations in the regions so as to be at the security forces' service on demand. The unavailability of the quantity would entail criminal liability for the orphans' stations for breach of trust through failure to apply the contract's terms. (amendment)

5 - We place these facts before the judiciary, hoping for a reconsideration of the decision, and we have confidence in it.

In closing, we leave the matter to the people and the residents of the area, which has witnessed and daily witnesses the queues of cars lined up waiting their turn to fill up, because they have every confidence in the orphans' stations to give full measure, as well as selling at the official price.
