Under the title “Our Excellence Distinguishes Us”, Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association's “Al-Rahma High School” honoured its pupils who passed and excelled in the official examinations for the intermediate and secondary certificates, at a large ceremony it organized in the ceremonies hall, in the presence of the Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, the school's director Mrs. Soulaf Hashem, the director of the Imam Al-Rida (a.s.) Mabarra, the representative of the head of the educational district, directors of schools and universities, the representative of the Nabatieh municipality, the representative of the school's parents' committee, educational and social figures, and the parents of the pupils and the teachers.
The ceremony opened with clear verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, then the entry of the pupils being honoured.
The ceremony also featured artistic items, the honouring of the model pupil, then the parents' committee's speech, the speech of the pupils' parents, and a speech by the school's graduates.
Then came the speech of the Director General Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah, who said: “We have come today to pour out to you what fills our breasts of delight and joy at what you achieved in the general secondary certificate examinations with grades close to those of the top students in Lebanon, and in the intermediate certificate with top grades (third and fifth in Lebanon). You have kept your promise and preserved the mission of Al-Mabarrat's schools, which wanted you to be a distinctive mark amid the challenges of today's world, through faith, moral values and the various sciences.”
He added: “Al-Mabarrat's schools carried the banner of knowledge in the darkest circumstances, and they aimed and still aim to build a society founded on participation, on accepting difference and on the ability to express oneself, by building a firm culture of faith-based and civilized values and behaviour. We at Al-Mabarrat will continue to work on building a generation that is skilled in carrying its Islamic thought far from bias and from inheriting the denominational fanaticism that creates a travelling destruction.”
He addressed the families, saying: “You who trusted Al-Mabarrat and Al-Rahma High School and sent your own flesh and blood into its embrace - and here it is today presenting them to the universities as young men and women filled with optimism, confidence and reassurance, carrying the torch of success in one hand and the torch of lighting a bright future for society in the other. We thank you for your trust in the school, hoping that your positive communication with it will continue; its administration is ready for dialogue with you on any matter in which you see benefit for our children. You have been the finest of fathers and mothers in your follow-up and your cooperation, and this work will not be lost with God - we ask God that they may be a delight to your eyes.”
He continued, addressing the pupils being honoured: “We want you to be the faithful, for this is the way of the truly great, the eminent and the believers, who are faithful to their teachers and to everyone who worked on teaching and raising them, and to everyone who gave them something of their spirit, their knowledge and their life. Be faithful to the one who founded the edifices of Al-Mabarrat; embody the dream in the details of his life; come to know his thought - he who was fuel for the mind, a pulse for the heart and a radiance for the spirit; his thought was human and universal. Do not listen to those who twist words among the falsifiers, and to those who sell their hereafter for their worldly life among the backward and the superstitious, who buy consciences and commit falsehoods. Be as he (may God be pleased with him) said to you: “Be those who work on developing their minds and who give their minds every freedom of thought; and take knowledge only from one who possesses the trust of knowledge, the authenticity of knowledge, the depth of knowledge and the depth of experience.””
He concluded by congratulating Al-Rahma High School on the results achieved, which are considered the truest expression of the dedication and the great contributions of the administrations and the teachers, who kept their promise and their pledge. Shields and certificates were then distributed to the students being honoured.
