The Director General of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr. Mohammad Baqer Fadlallah valued the position of the Minister of Education Judge Abbas Al-Halabi on the matter of abolishing the intermediate certificate (the brevet), and held in a statement “that Al-Mabarrat schools would have wished that the intermediate certificate not be dispensed with, because this abolition will make the educational situation deteriorate further and become more critical through automatic promotion”.
He added: “This certificate is considered a turning point in the course of education, and a basic means - as His Excellency the Minister of Education said - of measuring educational levels and of moving from the intermediate stage to the general secondary stage. It is also a condition of entry to some branches of vocational education and to some posts.”
Dr. Fadlallah pointed out that “Al-Mabarrat schools devote an exceptional effort, made by their teaching staff in all the Lebanese regions, to prepare our students for the official examinations and to obtain distinguished results as they do every year”.
