A radio and television studio was opened at the University of Sciences and Arts in Lebanon, with a ceremony for the occasion held in the university's hall, in the presence of the director general of Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association Dr Mohammad Baqir Fadlallah, the university's president Dr Mohammad Reda Fadlallah and a crowd of interested people.

The studio includes the equipment and fittings that media students need: HD cameras and their control devices, audio recording devices, editing devices, in addition to sound devices and the insulated room fitted out for talk shows and news programmes, and everything a student needs to complete the production process successfully.

The head of the media department at the university Farouk Rizk delivered a speech in which he pointed to “the university's wish to develop the students' training capacities and to open the way for them to become acquainted with the most recent practices in the field of media work, which enables them to live the media reality and to deal professionally with its tools”.

He noted that “this occasion comes within the context of a plan to balance the theoretical and applied aspects in the field of media, and in fulfilment of the university's slogan, which it announced to its students, that it is their choice for distinction”, explaining that “the studio is equipped with technologies and tools that will place media students in a practical environment simulating the labour market, raise their knowledge and their skills, and strengthen their opportunities in the labour market later on”.

He thanked those present and Al-Mabarrat Charitable Association as “the mother institution”, and the Orphans' Library for the financial contribution to the studio, and the Al-Iman channel for preparing and fitting out the studio.

Then the studio's director Rabih Bishara gave an explanation of the equipment and the technologies, and of how the students would be taught in the studio.

In conclusion, the university lecturer Randala Jabbour conducted a trial interview with the director general of Al-Mabarrat, which was filmed, carried out and directed by a number of the faculty's students.
